crochet produce bag pattern!

i like reusable produce bags to lower my single-use plastic consumption. after use or after a few uses i just put them in the washing machine with my towel laundry and they work great and last essentially forever! feel free to customize this pattern to fit your desired size of mesh produce bag.

you will need

• 4mm crochet hook
• worsted weight cotton yarn
• scissors

abbreviations

• ch - chain
• st - stitch
• sc - single crochet
• hdc - half-double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• sk - skip

step 1:

chain 31 st.

step 2

sc 2 in the first stitch, sc 1 in every stitch after, sc 2 in the last st of chain, turn, and sc in every remaining st of the chain (62 sc). sl st into first st to join.

rows 3-5

hdc in each st in the round (62 hdc). sl st into first st to join.

rows 6-22

*hdc 1 st, ch 1, sk 1, repeat * until end of round, sl st to join (31 hdc, 31 ch).

row 23

sc until end of round, join with sl st and tie off.
